Oakville Interior Design Project – Westview

This week I’m very happy to be sharing one of our Oakville interior design projects with you!  This is truly a draw-dropping transformation and we hope you enjoy seeing the before and after images.  Everyone loves a great before/after story – Right!?!

About This Oakville Interior Decorating Project

This lovely couple was moving out of the large family home they’d lived in for the past 40 years and into a one-level bungalow. Their main request was a space that fit their retirement years and love of colour, and that they could get rid of the quote “stuffy old lady furniture” that they had been meaning to trade in for years.

We started over completely with all new furniture and a full decor makeover that spoke to their personality and what they liked. They did want to keep one favourite, wing-backed reading chair, so we recovered it to fit in beautifully with the rest of the room. In addition, we replaced all the flooring with new hardwood throughout.

We had helped them decide where to place their existing furniture when they moved, so the floor plan didn’t need to change… But everything else did.  We went with a new custom size rug to work with the oddly shaped room, custom drapery and reupholstered their existing wingback and footstool in a gorgeous updated fabric combination.

A custom sofa, armchair, and ottoman all work together to make the space functional and beautiful.  Our clients enjoy really living in their space, so the sofa, chair, and rug are all spill-proof, so they can relax and enjoy.  We pulled in some great wood side tables and a coordinating console behind the sofa, all with a drawer and a shelf below for extra storage, which is important when downsizing.

We finished the space off by layering some custom throw pillows, great accessories, some fresh flowers, and voila – A beautiful new space that our clients will enjoy for many years to come. We’re super happy with the way this project turned out, and what’s even better is that so are our clients!
