4 Easy Steps To Make Your Home Feel More Complete

A lot of people I speak with mention that they need help making their home feel more complete. Often people get to a point, and then they don’t know what to do. So, if you have all of your main furniture pieces in but still feel like your home is not quite where you want it to be, then this post is for you. Today I’m sharing four easy steps to make your home feel more complete.

Add Lots Of Layers

I’ll often see people get their main furniture pieces into their homes, but not the softer elements that help a home feel layered. Things like drapery, area rugs, toss pillows, and throw blankets are essential items that must be in a room to help add layers and help it feel more complete.

Dress Up Your Walls

Have you got a bunch of bare walls? You’re not alone. Consider adding artwork, photos, mirrors, and even wall moulding details to your home to help it feel nicely curated and complete. I actually wrote a whole blog post about what to do with bare walls, so if you need help in this area, be sure to CLICK HERE to read it.

Add Styling Elements

Accessories like table lamps, books, candles, vases, boxes, baskets and objects are wonderful to layer into a space. Use these items to style areas such as tabletops, open shelving, and counters to help your home have more personality. Are you stuck for ideas? Visit your favourite interior design websites (or my interior design portfolio HERE) to get some ideas.

Incorporate Greenery and Flowers

This is probably one of the easiest things to do, and it adds significant impact. You can either visit your local florist (if you’re in Oakville, be sure to check out my favourite spot – Fiori Oakville) or if your budget is a bit tight, then go ahead and pick up some fresh flowers or greenery from the grocery store. Fresh flowers and foliage add a nice element of both colour and texture that really help a room come alive.
